Face the Music Face Painting (Bridge). Get ready for a rock show by looking the part. From musical notes to stars, you can choose from all kinds of designs to create your own look.
Button Up Your Groove (Gallery 14). Create your own band name and logo and put it on a button to wear with your groovy outfit. All you need now is music.
Posters for a Cause (Gallery 17). Be an activist! Using a range of media, design a poster to raise awareness for a cause you care about. When your're finished, post it somewhere for everyone to see and admire!
Findin' the Funk Dance Workshop with the Lab DC (Rotunda). Watch a breathtaking breakdancing performance by teachers from The Lab DC, then try their moves in a workshop.
Performance by Lab DC (North Atrium). Cheer on students from The Lab DC as they perform innovative breakdancing feats.
DJ for a Day with Scratch DJ Academy (North Atrium). 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m, 2:30 p.m. Learn the craft of scratching like a real DJ with Scratch DJ Academy. All ages can try it and dance to the music during 20-minute interactive workshops throughout the day. Space is limited to 20 per workshop; on-site sign up required.
Kids’ Gallery Tours (South Atrium). 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m. Explore the Corcoran’s colorful collection. See what sights and sounds you discover as you step into the galleries and take a closer look.
Raffle (Atrium). 11:00 a.m., noon, 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. Enter to win a prize from the Corcoran gift shop! Winners will be notified by email or text every hour.
Create a Tee (Education Workshop). Every graffiti artist has his or her own signature. Design your own unique signature with selected art materials and put it on a t-shirt to wear with pride.
Clay Whistle (Ceramics Studio). Make your own musical instrument. Sculpt and ornament your own whistle from air-dry clay, and then play it and start your own band.
Graffiti Gone Wild (Outdoor Sculpture Pad on New York Avenue). Try your hand at graffiti. Leave your mark on two cubical structures. Watch them transform over the course of the day.
Bring in the Noise, Celebrate the Beat (Seventeenth Street Entrance). Drummers Eddie Eatmon and Rivum Brigade will greet and send off visitors with their mesmerizing beat as you enter and exit the museum.
