Film

For decades, legendary New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham has been documenting fashion trends and high society soirées in his Style section columns “On the Street” and “Evening Hours.” Best known for his candid street photography, 82 year old Cunningham has observed and captured the total scope of New York City fashion, obsessively chronicling uptown celebrities and socialites, downtown eccentrics, and everyone in between. In his film, Bill Cunningham New York, director Richard Press creates a charming, funny, and moving portrait of a singular man dedicated to the pursuit of capturing Manhattan style and the fleeting moments of everyday life through his camera lens.
