Body Image in Art

Saturday, February 23 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Educator Workshop

Pre-registration required

Over the centuries, artists have given us diverse, perceptive insights into personal experience and social interactions by the way they present the human body. The human figure is the most central form [motif] of art through the ages.  Clothed or unclothed, at work or at rest, the postures and gestures of the body express what sometimes cannot be easily put into words.  The workshop includes gallery time to discuss the body in different works, a project making “naked” and “nude” figures, and exercises to assist teachers in addressing the body comfortably in class.

Registration for this workshop is now closed.
