Presented in Cooperation with the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital

Internationally renowned environmental artist Patrick Dougherty has created hundreds of monumental site-specific sculptures out of nothing more than saplings—transforming piles of sticks into energetic lines and exuberant forms. Celebrating the artist’s 25-year career, this documentary follows Dougherty and his collaborators during a year of stick work, revealing Dougherty’s process, personal story, and inspirations. John Beardsley, Director of Garden and Landscape Studies at Dumbarton Oaks, introduces the film for its D.C. premiere.

Online registration for this film is now closed. Tickets will be available at the door of the auditorium beginning at 6:30 p.m., one half hour before the film begins.
