Petropolis: Aerial Perspectives on the Alberta Tar Sands

Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m.

Shot from above, filmmaker Peter Mettler’s Petropolis offers an unmatched view of the Alberta tar sands, the second largest natural oil reserve in the world. With almost no narration and replete with observational long takes, these aerial views provide insight into this massive industrialized effort and its impact on Canada’s unspoiled wilderness. Director Peter Mettler will introduce the film and take questions following the screening. Gallery admission is included.

Online registration for this program is now closed. Tickets will be available at the door of the auditorium at 6:30 p.m., half an hour before the program begins.
